Retrieved 26 July 2011.〕 who is considered an important figure of South Asian architecture and noted for his contributions to the evolution of architectural discourse in India.〔(Ashish Nangia: "Post Colonial India and its Architecture - II" ), in Boloji, 12-02-2006〕 He is known for his contributions to the architecture of Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.

B. V. Doshi was born in Pune, India.〔(Japan Architect, nr.05, 2001 )〕 He studied at the J. J. School of Architecture, Mumbai.
